Being part of a firm which pays you monthly but gives no work is a source of frustration at times. You get so much free time that you don’t know what to do with that. You start reading more and more till the point you complete a book in a day. Then start watching movies/series till friends start asking, “why are you becoming net lakshmi(lakshmi always on net)?”. A trip to your hometown and visits to relatives still you are left with ample of idle time. I try my hands on skitching. Once easy ones get over my initial excitement starts to fade. Then I start googling “Things to do in your free time”. This extraordinary thought comes to my mind that I will start learning chess. But when you live with chess pros it has both advantage and disadvantage. You start playing 30 minutes online game and once you reach a point when you are losing, you call pros’ help and win the game like a pro. At the same time if they are watching you playing one bad noob move, you will be the content for the next 10 minutes laugh. To sidestep further embarrassments, you shift focus to general knowledge content. After consuming a good amount of YouTube content, you engage your brothers with questions like “Name 3 countries that start with the letter ‘S’,” or pondering, “Where do you bury the survivors?”, “longest river in the world”? The irritation from your brothers prompts a humorous retort: “No use in blaming you; we should blame your employer instead.”
Now only a week left before work starts, I say I will start my blog. “This is the only thing pending now” expected answer comes out.
I will start two blogs, one for Kannada and one for English, I announce. For Kannada I was fixed that I will name it as “Bersi Majjige” which means buttermilk with masala which is quite a catchy one for you if you are from coastal Karnataka. But for English, I start thinking. I call up my another brother and start telling him my plans and names I am thinking of. He suggests “marlarsante” suits you very well. Mind you it means “bazaar of insanity” . Realizing the mistake of asking help from wrong people, I ask my aunt for suggestions. She gives very good suggestions. After finalizing the name, brother bombards me questions “who reads your content? On what topic you write? This will be your first and last blog”
Those questions trigger me, I check what type of content not so present out there. I am “Jack of all trades, master of none” type of person. I think I can write about my childhood, life experiences , books , movies/series ,corporate world or AI as well. I can’t choose one particular category. Then I decide let’s start about anything and see how it goes.
Hey I read your content!! It was amazing…
